1938

The "Postschutzkapelle Salzburg" is founded at the post office on the main station on September 9th and is directed by Stanislaus Stocker.
   
1945

The "Salzburger Postmusik" resumes its musical activity as a section of the Union of Postal and Telegraph Workers

In the following years the Postmusik Salzburg participates in postal band gatherings in Graz, Klagenfurt, Wien, Innsbruck. The popular concerts in the Mirabell Gardens begin.
  
1975

After 25 years as band leader Anton Nekvinda retires and Paul Hofbauer is appointed 1977 by chairman Eduard Gerdenits.
  
1982

The telecommunications building in Itzling serves as new premises for band rehearsal and practice. The first operetta concert in performed in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Salzburg

1983

45-year-anniversary of the Postmusik – a gala concert in conducted in the congress building. The Salzburger Postmusik receives a new outfit designed after the historic, archiepiscopal uniform dating back to 1780.
  
1984

20th International Gathering of Postal Bands. For the first time the sounds of brass bands can be heard in the famous Salzburg Festival Houses
  
1985

Am 30. Mai wird unter dem "neuen Firmenlogo: Postmusik Salzburg" der Klangkörper als eingetragener Verein, unter Obmann Gerd Lehmert, gegründet.

Within the next decade concert tours lead the Salzburger Postmusik to Linz, Graz, Karlruhe and Venice. The annual fall concerts in the Mozarteum Salzburg gain popularity.

Remarkable charity concert for the Karl Heinz Böhm project "People for people" in the Great Hall of the University of Salzburg.
    
On 9 Sept. Franz Millacher is appointed new musical director. Walter Blachfellner is elected chairman, and Gerd Lehmert is speaker of the orchestra.
  
1997

Various concerts: open-air in Tamsweg and Klagenfurt, Badgastein, Rupertikirtag, and Harlekin Award celebration in the Cafe Winkler in Salzburg.

1998

In the year of the 60th anniversary the Postmusik Salzburg records a CD entitled "Gar lieblich bläst der Postillion".
Open-air concert at the Klagenfurt Cathedral on 19 June.
On 23 July the Postmusik gives a concert in the renowned Felsenreitschule to celebrate the beginning of the Salzburg Festival.

1999

Spring concert in the Kolpinghaus in Salzburg-Itzling.
In May participation at the Festival of Folk Culture in Salzburg.
On 23 July the Postmuik gives another concert in the Felsenreitschule
In September 1999 the Postmusik goes on the major concert tour to China, where the orchestra participates in an international brass festival. Performances in Peking and Dalian.

2000

Charity concert in the church of Itzling-Salzburg
Performance on opening-night at the austrian – nationality circus.
Appearance on the popular TV-show "Klingendes Österreich"
First performance of the musical theater "Schwarzes Gold" in Upper Austria.
Concert tour to Nördlingen, Ger.
Celebration of folk-culture in the Hellbrunn Castle.
Fall concert in Mozarteum.
In August 2000 the Postmusikyouthorchestra goes on the major concert tour to China, where the orchestra participates in an international brass festival. Performances in Peking and Xian.

2001

9-11 March: recording of a new CD entitled "Postmusik Salzburg: Traditionell und modern"
22-26 March: concert tour to Castellon, Spain.
10 April: opening-night at the austrian – nationality circus
11-13 May: concert tour to Neumünster, Ger.
