On July 5th, our long-time friend and music colleague Josef Schachl passed away at the age of 59. We remember him not only in his play on the second flugelhorn, but also for his tireless commitment on the board of the Postmusik Salzburg. As treasurer, he managed the financial affairs of our orchestra for many years – even in times when this was not always easy. In this role, he also managed the organization of the annual autumn concerts, the Christmas music ensembles and the accompaniment of funerals. For his work in the service of brass music, he was awarded the Leo Ertl Medal in bronze. We say goodbye in gratitude and sadness. Our thoughts are with his family.
